Pacoima Historical Society Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Holiday Parade
Parade participants reached an all time high with 175 entries in this 50th year of this community’s holiday parade. Actor Danny Trejo and Producer Leslie Small were a few of Hollywood successes that graced the parade along with Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez , Secretary of State Alex Padilla, Sal Rodriguez (Music Group - War), Rudy Salas (Music Group - Tierra), Gil Rocha (played with Ritchie Valens) Jesse & Tyler Posie (Teen Wolf) as well as multiple community activists and longtime residents.
PHS Shows It's DIVERSITY
Riding proudly in the 50th Pacoima Holiday parade PHS sought out community individuals to join in the parade festivities with PHS board members. Secretary Suzanne Llamas reached out the diverse pool of residents and invited a few to join in greeting the community.
Inaugural "Pacoima History Day" An Overwhelming Success
The Pacoima Historical Society's first annual "Pacoima History Day" was a big success. An estimated 500 people attended the event through out the day. Members of the community received recognition from the Pacoima Historical Society and 7th District Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez, who also presented special awards to our honorees.

Andra’e Crouch's career was perhaps one of the most phenomenal of all the successes in Pacoima. Grammy award winning Andra’e bridged the gap between gospel and mainstream music working with major stars such as Michael Jackson, Madonna, Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones.

The Pacoima Historical Society is proud to be honoring seven members and businesses from the community who have exemplified leadership and the pioneering spirit of Pacoima. The "PHS Golden Seal Award" was given to each of the honorees, who also received official recognition from the City of Los Angeles.
